Accidents and injuries cost the shipping industry millions of dollars every year. Do
our crew know the proper, correct and safe way of working in every conceivable
situation? The answer could be mostly ‘yes’ but generally ‘no’.
This course is made specifically for ratings, keeping in mind the hazardous nature of
their job, whether they are working aloft, overside, on deck, in holds, in tanks or in
the engine room. The crew safety course is designed to provide knowledge and
guidance on the current best industry practices to be followed during working on
board ships.The topics addressed have been referenced from the Code of Safe
Working Practices for Merchant Seamen.

Maritime English |

This course has been specially designed
to cover the STCW and ISM code requirement
on extent of knowledge of
English language required by all seafarers.
The course starts of with General
English, words to be formed into
phrases, emphasis being on clear, precise communication rather than
a being grammatically correct. It is followed by Maritime English phrases
as taken from standard Marine Communication Phrases The course is
interactive with participants made to read, speak, reply and understand
messages being conveyed. Extensive use is made of CBT’s and
video training. The participants are evaluated throughout the course
and a grading is given to them at the end.
